Barkley is a newer planned community on the east side near Barkley Village, full of modern construction from the last couple of decades. The homes are solid but came with builder-grade trim: thin base, plain casing, and not much character. Owners here have a clear ask, take a well-built newer house and give it the finish carpentry that makes it feel custom.
The most-requested work in Barkley is upgrading that builder-grade trim to thicker, profiled base and casing, adding board-and-batten accent walls and wainscot, running floating shelves, and building in around the fireplace. Because the homes are newer and closer to square, the work moves quickly and the results are dramatic. We still acclimate the material and gap for our humidity swing so the upgrades stay tight.
